A note about my Substacks and the books I write
I strive to create a memorable reader experience. It’s my hope that after reading one or two of my books, you’ll know what to expect were you to pick up my next book. Part of creating this experience comes from understanding genre and where a book fits.
My books contain some suspense thriller characteristics and an occasional murder that needs to be solved so they could fit in the Suspense-Thriller category. My books are set in the American South and so can also be characterized as Southern Fiction. To date my books have taken place in a time frame ranging from the 1950s to the 1990s, so they could be considered Historical Fiction in some respects. Themes of redemption, forgiveness and God’s grace appear in my books, but my books do not qualify as Christian Fiction. My books contain a few murders and sex scenes but none that are graphic or gratuitous. Life can be ugly, but I won’t glamorize man’s fallen nature. But who doesn’t love a well-crafted Bad Guy!
I share this with you because I have two Substacks and the topics of each don’t directly dovetail with the subject matters of my books or the reader experience I hope to create. One Substack is entitled World Views Matter and I discuss how one’s world view affects how they live their life. My world view is Christ centered, and I openly share what I believe. My other Substack is entitled American History Celebrated and it focuses on American History and specifically the history of Charleston, South Carolina and the surrounding area. (I give walking history tours in Charleston; if you are ever in Charleston, and want a tour, please reach out to me on my contact page.)
So, if either of these topics interest you, please check them out and thank you.
